Tamaki Rice Products Special Features

Tamaki Rice (Williams Rice Co.) is the only rice mill which has its own brand for short grain rice as a manufacturer. All other brands for short grain rice are OEM products from distributors.

Tamaki Rice (Williams Rice Co.) is specializing to produce premium quality Japanese short grain rice. The cleaning process of the rice is thoroughly managed by Japanese experts in the field;  therefore, the flavor is always consistent and of the highest quality. Cooking and tasting test must be done for every lot of the products before and after packaging.

Tamaki Rice is only grown and cultivated by limited contract farmers with the highest level of technology available.

Tamaki Rice resists aging and starch solidification well, and can also be enjoyed when cooled. (Well-suited for Sushi rice and all Japanese food.)

Less rinsing needed.
”Musen-mai,” a kind of rice that is advertised as “no wash necessary” tends to lose nutrients and flavor during the cleaning process.

However, because Tamaki Rice is put through a processing machine called “Kapika" (holds its reputation for the highest of rice-cleaning technology); which retains all the quality and flavor of rice.

What’s “HAIGA” Rice?

“Haiga” is the word for “rice germ” in Japanese. HAIGA rice is a fully milled kernel of rice, which retains the nutritious rice germ. Under today’s sophisticated milling techniques, Williams Rice Milling Company is able to remove all the bran from the kernel, yet retain the nutritious rice germ (Vitamin E, B1, B2, B6 and GABA, Gammar Amino Butyric Acid), so it is said to “carry its own vitamin capsule on its head”. Tamaki Haiga Rice tastes similar to white rice and is better than ever before. Tamaki Haiga Rice utilizes the Koshihikari variety of rice, which has become well known for it’s high quality characteristics of stickiness, sweetness and softness of texture.
